Early Intervention and Public Awareness Education

This activity will focus on children ages from birth – 2 years in Caldwell County and will include the following components: 1) provide outreach and education to pediatricians and medical professionals about the importance of a comprehensive developmental screening and referral process; 2) provide community forums to educate parents of children’s devleopmental milestones, families rights and the early intervention referral process; 3) provide trainings to educate child care providers, staff of social services agencies, families and other community partners of devleopmental milestones, families rights and the early intervention referral process;  4) provide support to the Local Interagency Coordinating Council (LICC) including Child Find efforts; 5) develop and disseminate an Infant Toddler Early Intervention Referral Guide.  This activity will provide a part-time Early Intervention Educator with knowledge of the early intervention system, child development and experience in family support.  This activity will be implemented in Caldwell County by a qualified agency (direct service provider/DSP) selected through a competitive bidding process or through the contracting of a qualified individual by the Partnership if an acceptable bid is not selected .
