Quality Enhancement

Child care facilities with one to three stars will be targeted to implement two improvement components to address the need for higher licensure. These improvements (quality enhancements) will include: environmental enhancements and a comprehensive on-site technical assistance project to improve early childhood practices in the classroom. The majority of these services will be provided on-site in child care centers and family child care homes. All grant awards for environmental enhancement will follow current North Carolina Partnership for Children Quality Enhancement Guidelines. Individual grants will not exceed $10,000 per program in any fiscal year.
